Cheap Fun at the State Fair

Free with Admission at the Tennessee State Fair!
In addition to FREE parking all day, everyday; there’s so much to do for FREE once you’re inside the fair gates. So, grab your $5 admission ticket from Kroger, and follow us for family fun!
Entertainment Zones:
• Agriculture Zone: The state fair goes back to its roots in this exciting and educational zone! Families can take in animal judging, Future Farmers of America (FFA) contests and activities, 4-H activities, mule pulling, and much more!
• Art and Gaming Zone: Families are invited to come out and play in this interactive, entertaining zone that encompasses areas such as Tiny Acres and the Game Hype Experience, and features shows such as the Chef Landry Comedy Show and the Fairest of the Fair competition. This zone also features the Children’s Coloring Station, the Parents’ Rest Station, the Toy Train Exhibit, the Creative Arts competitions, and the Market Place, featuring a variety of goods from sunglasses to fudge.
• Family Fun Zone: This is the place everyone in the family will want to be! Family Fun Zone is home to Volunteer Village, McDonald’s Kids Country, Randall’s Racing Pigs, BMX Stunt Showcase, Extreme Canine Stunt Dogs, and the Helicopter Trapeze Act. In addition, families can enjoy magic shows, a flight simulator and photo booths.
• Extreme Teen Zone: Teens will have a blast in this zone made just for them. There will be a variety of high-energy activities to choose from, including the S.A.A.F.E. Program Driving Safety Course, the World’s Largest Cell Phone from Cricket, and karaoke competitions.

Activities, Shows and Events:

• Volunteer Village: Travel back in time to the days of sorghum making, spinning, quilt making, gristmill, mining, bluegrass, story telling and lumberjack shows. It’s a trip to the past that the whole family will enjoy.

• Helicopter Trapeze Act: The whole family will be thrilled by the daring acts of The Nocks, the unique group of performers who thrill crowds around the country with their feats of bravery.

• Extreme Canine Stunt Show: This show will take place in the Family Fun Zone once a day throughout the 10-day fair period. The whole family will love seeing rescue dogs catch Frisbees, and do tricks in one of the most entertaining, high-energy animal acts in the country!

• Live music and shows on three stages: Nashville is known the world over for music, and the fair will show attendees why! From country stars of Nashville Star to fan favorites from Can You Duet, to up-and-comers, three stages will be rocking throughout the fair’s run. Other shows – including dance competitions, karaoke showdowns and even ice cream eating competitions – will take place on the fair’s main stages as well.
• Randall’s Racing Pigs: Randall’s High Diving Racing Pigs perform stunts and race for Oreo cookies in the Family Fun Zone.

• BMX Stunt Showcase: This unique stunt show features some of the top ramp riders in BMX, plus Flatland BMX riders, inline skaters and skateboarders.

• Game Hype Experience: Families can take a shot at Wii, Xbox, or Playstation 3 in this high energy game zone! Rated E for EVERYONE!
• Great Lakes Timber Family Show: The Lumberjack show features chainsaw carving, axe throwing, wood chopping, one and two-man crosscut sawing, modified chain sawing, log rolling and loads of clean family humor.

• Chef Landry’s Comedy Dinner Show: Chef Landry provides a generous supply of family humor, along with appetizing Cajun dishes. He begins with a lesson in authentic Cajun cooking, peppered with the Landry brand of humor, and culminates with several Creole dishes.
• Baird’s Petting Zoo: Located in McDonald’s Kids Country, Baird’s Petting Zoo offers hands-on fun for all ages! Little ones will love getting up close and personal with friendly farm animals.

• Tiny Acres Interactive Farming Exhibition: Fun for the next generation farmer! Tiny Acres engages little folks with hands-on experience and appreciation of the time and energy that the American farmer puts into bringing food to the family table.

• Green Acres Interactive Environment Exhibition: This is the place for Tennessee families to learn to live a little greener! Experts will be on hand to show families fun ways to incorporate earth-friendly activities into their daily life.

One-Day Freebies:
• The Festival of The Nations: (September 12, 11 a.m.) The whole family will love this celebration of world cultures. Fairgoers will get the chance to see music, dance, art and food exhibits from around the world. The celebration will take place on the infield in the speedway, and each of the 30 cultures represented will participate in the state’s largest cultural parade around the track.
• Krystal Hamburger Eating Contest: (September 19th 2 p.m.) Watch superstars of the competitive food eating world devour Krystal hamburgers until they’re all eaten!
• Guitar Hero Competition (September 20) Finalists from qualifying rounds will play in the championship to claim the title of Guitar Hero champion!
• Karaoke Showdown: (September 20) In true Nashville fashion, the fair will offer would-be superstars the chance to sing their hearts out in the nightly Karaoke Showdown, and then finalists will complete for first, second and third place in the finals.
• Purity Ice Cream Eating Contest: (September 12th & 19th at, 2:30 p.m.) Bring on the brain freeze! Finalists from qualifying rounds will compete for first place in this super cool eating competition!
